Packing List

Be sure to review the rules page as there are items we ask that you don't bring with you in order to preserve the sanctity of the forest. Thanks!

  • Tent and sleeping bag, blankets, and pillows.  Make sure you will be warm enough!
  • You must bring some form of light, be that a flashlight or headlamp. LED headlamps are highly recommended.  We really like LED headlamps- you can get them for about 200 pesos.  Make sure you bring batteries.
  • It is warm here during the day and chilly at night, so bring layers of clothing. Optional but recommended: hat and gloves.
  • Toiletries.  We provide toilet paper.  Anything else you'll need is up to you:  toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, tampons, condoms, etc.  There are no stores available- this location is fairly remote. Please don't forget anything important!
  • Medication you might want.
  • Sunscreen and sun protection.  The forest is at a high altitude, so the sun is rather strong. Sunglasses are nice, too.
  • Water-bottle.  We provide bottled drinking water.
  • A plate, a bowl, a cup, a fork, spoon, and knife.  Everyone will wash his/her own dishes.
  • Walking shoes.  Cumbre Yah! is located outdoors- be prepared!  
  • If you have a digital camera, bring it!  We'll upload your photos if you want to share.
  • A notebook and pens.  (optional, highly recommended.  We will be sharing lots of information during the event, and you will likely want to write stuff down)
  • Your portfolio (optional for artists)
  • We will have a charging station set up during the day for your cell phones, camera batteries, etc.  
  • Bring your own snacks, coffee, tea, alcohol. Alcohol and coffee are not provided by the event! You are encouraged to bring stuff to share with others, but if you *need* coffee in the morning, be sure at least to take care of yourself. There will be outdoor stoves for making coffee and hot drinks. Electric powered coffee makers are not allowed - they use too much electricity.
  • Costumes and fun clothing!  The atmosphere we'll create will be highly accepting of whatever you want to wear, so if you've got goofy/sexy/strange outfits, feel free to bring them!  
  • Bring your creative participation: your contribution to the event.
  • Optional: large tent for your theme camp.
  • Optional but highly recommended: camp chairs.
  • Optional: thermos for hot tea and other hot beverages.
  • Optional: cooler with ice. We don't have ice or refrigeration - you'd have to bring ice from town before you arrive.
  • Optional: games to play. We have Jenga, Settlers of Cataan, chess, cards, and Fluxx.
