Location

Cumbre Yah! is located in a forested space near Lake Pátzcuaro in Michoacán, Mexico. We are lucky to have such a great location!  Just a few of the highlights of this spot:

  • Variety of ecosystems to observe in many different microclimates
  • Over 50 acres (over 20 hectares) of pines, oaks, and madrones
  • An amazing view of Lake Patzcuaro and some of the surrounding towns
  • An opportunity to experience life "off the grid" (This location has no city water or electricity. Power comes from solar panels, water from rain catchment)
  • Numerous camping spots offering event attendees options from car camping, group camping, or quiet isolation.
  • Around 5km of trails for hiking and walking.
  • Numerous meditation/reading/quiet spots throughout the land to allow attendees to experience the natural beauty of the forest.
  • Outdoor stoves at three locations for attendees to serve hot drinks and/or make food and snacks.

Because we care about this space, we ask that all participants take personal responsibility to leave no trace -- all objects that you bring must leave with you.  We must protect the forest! We will have recycling and garbage areas for attendees to throw waste.  We hope to continue using this place for events in the future!

Directions and maps will be sent to participants.
