There will be many activities to take part in during the event, but here are some to give you an idea of what this location has to offer.

  • Language exchange. Cumbre Yah! will be an event with both English and Spanish speakers in attendance. You are encouraged to practice your second language! This will be a setting where you can feel comfortable making mistakes and testing your skills.
  • Hiking: we've got lots of trails to explore the forest.
  • There are spots along the trails for meditation, book reading, and chatting. The view of the lake has sitting areas with a fire pit for early morning relaxation.
  • This area is one of the best areas for bird watching in Mexico.
  • Trampoline! The Black Rock theme camp provides a trampoline.
  • Due to our elevation and distance from large towns, stargazing here is excellent! You may enjoy laying on a blanket and staring at the sky, or checking out our spinning poi and hula hoopingtelescope and books for detailed sky viewing.
  • Yoga: We have DVDs and books available if you'd like to check them out. Anyone willing to teach yoga classes is more than welcome!
  • Staff spinning and poi: staffs and practice poi are available to check out.
  • Theater and improv games: with enough people, there's always the possibility!
  • Reading and study. We have an excellent library with books on permaculture, natural building, and how to do a variety of random things. We'll have a few couches set up for book reading, but ask that you do not take the books from the building in which they are stored.
  • Games are available to check out. The current list includes Settlers of Cataan, cards, Fluxx, Jenga, and chess. You are encouraged to bring games to share!
  • Modeling and photography. Professional and amateur models and photographers can get together for sessions.
  • Juggling stuff available to check out (balls and clubs).
  • Frisbees are available to check out.
  • Dancing! Goofy fun dance parties are definitely on the schedule!
  • Rock stacking. This activity can be very relaxing. There are a couple rock gardens available to create in.
  • Crafts. We may have craft classes where we share our different skills. Ideas include macrame, woodcarving, collage, mask making. Classes depend entirely on whether or not there is a participant willing to lead them.
  • Outdoor games including badminton, volleyball, and tetherball
  • Archery competitions!
